Date night

Dallas is an interesting area. Although family friendly, not a whole lot to do for a newly married, LDS couple. Basically, you have the options of shopping, eating and catching a movie. Since we are trying to save for a house, date nights have become a bit more creative :) Jess and I love the travel channel and watch Bizarre foods with Andrew Zimmern all the time. I think we were watching an episode that took place near the ocean. This must have sparked an idea in my mind and the next Friday we bought a live lobster. I was a little squeamish about the boiling part....so I let Jesse do that part, and I made the garlic sauce :) Probably the best lobster I have had, and something new to do to keep things fun!

Branson

We were able to spend several days in this gorgeous resort in Branson, Missouri. We went hiking, paddle boating on the lake, miniature golfing and just relaxing. Jess and I had some needed R&R as well as delicious food!

Christmas Day

Jesse and I wanted to make our first Christmas a memorable one. We went to an ice exhibit, and in this picture, the arch way is made of ice. So may cool things we got to see...but it was freezing!! Also, this ice sculpture exhibit was at the Gaylord Texan Resort. This resort is very significant as this is where Jess proposed to me after a wonderful dinner and fireworks show :) What a great way to celebrate Christmas.

I love this picture :) As you may be able to tell, Jesse did not want to get his picture taken. This was before his relay marathon with some guys in his police department. It is a good thing I got this before the marathon, because my dreams of becoming the ever encouraging and supportive wife were shattered, when he crossed the finish line, I went to get the perfect picture- the sun got in my screen...and all I got was the pavement. Ah well, maybe next time!
